19th Century French Walnut Low Table
The table is made of Walnut which has aged to a tight grain with a good luster. There is a large drawer in one end and a smaller drawer on one side, both dovetailed and with original hardware. The top is constructed of two large planks, held by perpendicular end pieces, the overall construction is pegged. Most likely this was a farm table and over time as the legs wore down and were trimmed, became so low that the modern use as a coffee table was the best adaptation. It is in good condition with small repairs for which no ?appology? is made, obvious and with charm.
